She asked me to help her with the visual content and explain her how Instagram works. She is a quite famous confectioner in Moscow, she works in a well known restaurants and she is really good at sweets and cakes.



600+ new followers in one month
without advertising, masliking and masfollowing.
Just because of redesign, kit of hashtags and right content.



What was changed

1. The picture of the account. The old one was black and white and it was not obvious that the person who is the owner of the account is a chief. I recommended to change the picture.

2. I recommended to change the description. In the old version the name itself was just a name of the owner. If a new user would come to see the account they wouldn't understand at first what is this account about and what they can find here. In new version there is a description of what the owner actually does here.

3. The owner didn't save any stories about recipes or process. I created covers for stories and recommended her different formats for stories including all the interactive things she could do with her followers.

4. The feed didn't have any design. All the posts were almost the same. There were no order or plan of publications. I created design in Canva, so the owner wouldn't depend on me and could create her posts any time she wanted but now she had the design.

5. I created a list of hashtags (in fact there is more that 1000 hashtags divided on kits for each case),including unique hashtags only for this account, hashtags for navigation in the account, local hashtags for the dislocation and so on.



The new design


1. The picture of the account is clear. Now it is understood that the person is a chef and she is close to cooking (even if you don't know what exactly she does).

2. The description including the search query words. This way the account is easier to find in Instagram.

3. Stories now are saved and have their covers, they divided by topics and each name of the section consist of one word, thus it is readable and clear.

4. The feed now has the design and special covers for each topic

5. The hashtags are working good because I gave a very good list of it and now only in one months without any programs of masliking or masfollowing my client got + 676 new followers.

6. From her account anyone can Call, send email or open Whatsapp messenger.

7. Also I gave her recommendations about frequency of the stories and posts in the feed, about different activities and advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

Design elements
A new design of the cover for the post shows some information about the recipe itself and motivate people to save the post (the arrow shows where the user should tap to have an opportunity to see it later).

As the owner wanted to do everything herself I just gave her some recommendations about the content.

  1. Think about the picture before posting it - the photo of the product shouldn't be cut or the product shouldn't be close to the edges of the picture
  2. If you even describe the same recipe or product many times, do not repeat the same picture many times - it doesn't make any visually good impression
  3. Use different formats of the picture - a part of the cake, whole cake, cake close to the camera, far from the camera - the diversity will make the look of the account better.
  4. Use the templates that I created in Canva, Quick, Unfold, Adobe Spark and other apps to make the picture more "tasty" if you can't hire a designer.
